A photographic view of Essex, Connecticut. The author, Marie Moore, moved to Essex in 1955 with her family. She resumed a career in journalism and met the book's photographic, Joseph Farber, during an interview. Joseph (b. 1903) studied at Columbia University and was a member of NYC's Camera Club where he studied under Edward Steichen. Photography was a hobby for Joseph, but he was well regarded and had his work exhibited in the Cleveland Museum of Art. Signed by Marie and Joseph on the front free endpaper.
