Pittsburgh annexed Allegheny in 1911 and it appears the first edition titled Pittsburgh Street Directory was issued in 1916. Prior to that, R. L. Polk & Co. issued an annual directory under the "Pittsburgh Directory" title, which contained more detailed business information.
