Inscribed in ink by George Iles on the right front free endpaper: "C. Lindsay Ricketts / from George Iles, / with every good wish. / NY, Jan. 6, 1912." C. Lindsay Ricketts (d. 1941), according to his obituary in the NY Times was a 'bibliophile and authority on calligraphy and illuminated manuscripts.'
On the endpaper is the bookplate of Charles Atwood Kofoid (1865 - 1947), a well-known zoologist at UC Berkeley and apparently a bibliophile based on the range of works he attached his bookplate to from researching his name online.
